Jonathon Tichy has served as Honorary Consul of the Czech Republic in Salt Lake City since his accreditation in 2009 and formal installation at the Utah State Capitol on May 10, 2010.

Professional Leadership

Mr. Tichy is president of Envoy Legal & Consulting International, specializing in international legal and governmental relations. He has also served as outside international legal and governmental relations counsel to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and as an adjunct professor at Brigham Young University.

International Experience

His professional work has brought him into direct engagement with hundreds of foreign government leaders, including presidents, prime ministers and foreign ministers. He is fluent at the native or near-native level in Czech and Slovak and has conversational proficiency in Hawaiian.

Diplomatic Service

Mr. Tichy spent more than seven years living and working abroad in business, legal, academic and governmental capacities. In the late 1990s, he received a diplomatic appointment during the Clinton administration to work at the United States Embassy in Prague and worked with Secretary of State Madeleine Albright during official overseas visits.

Recognition & Civic Leadership

For his work in government service, Mr. Tichy received the U.S. Department of State's Meritorious Honor Award. He later received Brigham Young University's Distinguished Alumni Service Award in 2011 and has contributed his experience to a range of civic, cultural and international organizations.
